About Me
Hello,
I’m Melissa LaTulip, a former kindergarten teacher of 9 years turned teacherpreneur and stay-at-home mom.
I am passionate about supporting early childhood educators and parents with resources and inspiration to improve efficiency and effectiveness to reduce the overwhelm.
I believe that every child has the ability to learn, grow and succeed.
Education
I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education and Integrated Science. A few days prior to graduation I got my first job offer. It was all happening so fast! I packed my Chevy Malibu to the roof and set off from Michigan to Arizona ready to begin my teaching career.
I knew kindergarten was for me instantly. Who doesn’t love being told they are beautiful on a daily basis?
It wasn’t long before I knew it was time to head back to school myself. I set my sights on a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and graduated in 2016.
A little bit more about me
I live in Maryland with my husband, daughter Alana and two German Shepherd dogs, Arnold and Laker. Life at my house is rarely quiet and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I definitely need my daily dose of coffee to keep up.
As a family we love exploring outdoors (one of the many reasons we left the desert) and traveling. Road trips are our jam. I love it so much that I have made 7 cross country roadtrips! We embrace the idea that life is all about the journey.
It didn’t take long to become frustrated by spending too much time at school on nights and weekends. My desk was constantly cluttered with an endless to-do list, and my current approach wasn’t cutting it.
I was determined to find a method that would allow me to work efficiently while still being an effective teacher and managing the classroom. I tried lists, sharing tasks with my teammates, file systems, you name it, I tried it.
I learned more in that one school year than I learned all of college, grad school and the prior school years combined.
I was feeling on top of the world at the start of the next school year. I not only survived but was thriving! I was managing my time effectively and my colleagues noticed it too. I was recognized as the teacher of the year for my school.
